Igor Karachentsev and Dmitry Makarov are the winners of the Web of Science Awards nominated of Highly Cited Researcher Russia 2017

The Chief Researcher, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor in Astrophysics and Radio Astronomy, Igor Dmitrievich Karachentsev being the head of the extragalactic astrophysics and cosmology lab and his colleague, Dmitry Igorevich Makarov, the Doctor of Physics and Mathematics both received the Web of Science Award in the nomination of Highly Cited Researcher Russia 2017 in their area of research. The award is presented by Clarivate Analytics. It is an independent American company founded in 2016 that owns and operates databases, information management systems, and intellectual property collections. The company is focused on scientific and academic research, patent analytics, and legal regulation, trademark protection, domain brand protection, intellectual property management, etc. The company owns such information management systems as Web of Science, EndNote, and others.
Igor Karachentsev and Dmitry Makarov have been awarded the prize of Web of Science for their publications being in the top 1% of highly cited papers in their research field.

Dmitry Makarov has been awarded at the high-profile awards ceremony in Moscow; Igor Karachentsev has received his certificate and a valuable gift at the Board of Academics meeting at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
